Ingredients

Scale

For the Muffins

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup whole milk (or any milk alternative)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract

For the Cinnamon Sugar Muffins Topping

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Oven & Muffin Tin

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with liners or lightly grease it.

Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

Step 3: Mix the Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined.

Step 4: Combine Wet & Dry Ingredients

Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined (avoid overmixing).

Step 5: Fill & Bake

Spoon the batter evenly into the muffin tin, filling each cup about ¾ full. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Step 6: Add the Cinnamon Sugar Topping

While the muffins are still warm:

  1. Brush the tops with melted butter.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle generously over the muffins.

Step 7: Serve & Enjoy

Let muffins cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm with coffee or tea!

Notes

  • To keep muffins soft, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • For a richer flavor, use brown sugar instead of white sugar in the topping.
  • These muffins freeze well—store in a ziplock bag for up to 2 months. Reheat in the microwave for a fresh taste.
  • Add mix-ins like chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or dried fruit for variety.
